"I'm sorry," Carlisle whispered, looking down at the floor.

"It's okay." Jake ensured.
He did not want to make Carlisle feel guilty.
None of this was his fault. It wasn't anybody's fault, really.
"Hmm... Do you maybe have some books in your office that could help us? Anything?"
He asked, just the tiniest bit more hopeful.

(Aww.... Jakey-poo's a softieee!! )

Carlisle thought for a moment, his expression still confused. Oh, how shocking - it was always confused, wasn't it??
"Uhm... Maybe...?" He said slowly, having no idea whats-so-ever.

"He might," Esme added quietly, still in the corner, "although, I don't think any of them are on freaky-brain-melting-whatever-this-is stuff..."

"Hmm... Edward, you are a lot faster at reading, so could you check? Anything and everything on brain tumors or any other brain illness. Bring them down, please."
He asked, quietly.
He was irritated...

Edward sighed, iritated that Jake was in his house, and ordering him around. Especially for Kiely's sake, when Carlisle was ill as well.
Edward ran up the stairs and scanned the bookshelves in a mere 10 seconds. By the time he was done, he had a huge pile, of which he started carrying down the steps.

"What about Carlisle?" Bella whispered, nearly inaudible.

Esme glanced at Bella.
"I don't know," she mumbled, dropping her gaze to the floor. Her gaze flickered around the room, resting for a few moments on Carlisle; standing, dumstruck in the far right of the room.

(LOL Edward kinda pissed)

Jake looked at Carlisle again.
Amnesia.
Vampire.
A Vampire who had Amnesia.
That was one thing he was sure nobody had ever heard before.
Although...
Maybe it was possible.
Maybe someone, somewhere had this problem, now or in the past.
His eyebrows scrunched together as he concentrated, trying to figure out if that was possible.
He huffed irritated before turning to Esme.
"Have you ever heard of something like that happening?" He asked quietly nodding in Carlisle's direction.

(YES!! I was like EWWW!!!
Especially in the beginning there, with Jacob's hand, err.... *shudder*)

Esme looked up at Jacob, towering over her while she was still tucked up in a little ball in the corner. She shook her head.
"No; I'm pretty sure he hasn't, either," she replied quietly, her eyes flashing to Carlisle for a second.

Carlisle backed up against the wall again, not wanting to interfere or get in anyone's way. He looked down; feeling as if all of this were his fault.

First Jake held out his hand to Esme.
He didnt want to see her all bundled up, it seemed depressed.
Then he flashed a smile at Carlisle.
"Don't worry, you're doing the best you can."

Edward carried down all the books, a few large stacks. Turning to Jake, he gestured towards the pile.

(... You really DON'T want to know.)
(Lol, it seemed depressed... She IS depressed... )

Esme stared at Jacob's hand, not sure whether or not to accept the help. After a minute or so, she finally decided to accept it.
"Thanks," she said quietly, still standing in the corner.

Carlisle looked over at the boy. He tried to smile back, but it came out as more of a grimace.

Sasha layed down on the couch, tucking her paws under her. She slowly let her eyelids droop shut, but still kept them open enough to watch Kiely.

Edward huffed at the cat. *Not time to go to sleep yet* He projected to Sasha. xD

(err... just something Spirit found. and its GROSS.)

Sasha looked up.
I wasn't sleeping, I was watching her. And, honestly, I don't know what to do. About either of them, she thought, looking at Edward.

Esme's head snapped up.
"You mean you can't help him?!"

*Uh, how about we keep this conversation a lil' more private?* Edward sent to Sasha.

Sasha sighed a kitty-sigh.

Esme's eyes widened.
"You can't help him?! Are you serious?!" she nearly hissed, staring at the cat.

Edward turned to Esme. "It's fine, Esme, don't worry. We'll figure it out, I promise" Edward insisted. Without turning towards Sasha, he thought *I thought you were supposed to save them??*

"It's not fine if she can't do what she's supposed to," Esme hissed, glaring at Sasha.

Supposedly. All I know was she found me, and you people said I was supposed to save the werewolf girl, and him, Sasha thought, jerking her head towards Carlisle.

*Well, someone had to have sent you. It isn't 'coincedence' that the day Kiely had that vision, you showed up.* Edward hissed through a though. He looked around for Alice, suddenly. He wondered where she was.

(WHERE IS ALICE?)

It could have been. I was only wandering through the forest when I found Esme sitting by a tree, Sasha thought, looking innocent.

Esme stifled a sigh, deciding to shut her mouth. That liar, she thought, yeah, she's a great help, isn't she??

*It wasn't.* Edward thought, simply.

[Alice is NEEDED]

Sasha shrugged.
It could have been.

"Look, it doesn't matter if it was a coincedence or not. just FIX him!" Esme growled, still glaring at Sasha.

Jake had put a hand on Esme's shoulder, first comforting, then restraining slightly.
He took her very gently by the arm and led her over to Carlisle, who was staring wide-eyed.
"Why don't you show him around the House? Or the Forest? He might remember something and it'll help you calm down."
He smiled, still gently, and looked at them expectant.

Alice came bouncing in through the door, holding Jasper's hand.
She knew they were all gonna ask (or yell at her) about where she'd been, so she said it before anybody had time to do that.
"We were hunting. Don't get pissy."

Esme glanced between Jacob and Carlisle, then just settled for staring at the floor.
"I don't know if I can," she whispered, her expression still troubled. It already hurt her enough to just look at him; she wasn't sure of what would happen if the two were alone for an extended period of time.

(Lol... i was reading through this.... Sounds like Jake has a little bit of a soft-spot for Esme. xDDD)

Edward glanced at Alice and quickly explained what happened the past few hours in a rush of words.

Bella glanced between them silently and fiddled with the ring on her left hand.
